The best fish suppers, the best burgers and onion rings, top restaurant class food.In fact even better than any restaurants fish tees Ive ever tasted. And I know my food.10/10, Amazing, Top Class, Cant Wait To Go Back. Add the scenic coastal walks all around and the Isla Craig Ailsa Craig Island visible from the bay just a short walk across the road.A must taste foodee heaven.
At the Oyster Bar tonight. Had Cullen Skink followed by haddock and chips. Food was superb and service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Will definitely go again.
The Wee Hurrie was and unexpected yet wonderful find! My family came to Troon on a whim simply for a day out, and we searched for a chippy, though it took a while to find. The hunt was certainly worth it. The menu is quite large and unique, allowing you to even purchase lobster (a surprise but a welcome one!) yet all of us simply bought cod and chips. The fish was delicious. It was large and full of flavour, probably the best that I had ever tasted from a chippy, and I did also enjoy the chips, yet they were often hard. If you're looking for a good, tasty chippy, then The Wee Hurrie is a great choice!
Delicious cod and chips. Absolutely delicious. Only downside was I found two small bones - but in the grand scheme of things fish are boney, so it's not the end of the world. Huge portions me and my husband shared one lot and we're both stuffed
Had to wait 40 minutes for 3 cod and chips and a prawn tempura. Was it worth it though? The answer is Yes!! Very good fish and chips. You could actually taste that the fish was fresh (the trawlers moor up literally 20 yards away). The prawn tempura was cooked spot on - not overdone as it's easy to do when deep frying. I take a point off as there's no children's menu. Get that sorted and it's 5 star all the way.Can't knock it for the wait. It only goes to show how good the food is and you can always spend the time trying to spot seals in the harbour (we saw one).Finally if you come out of the place and take a right there's a car park with a great little picnic spot. Great food and a great view out to the islands. Magic!!
