Great food, can't wait to eat here again
This chippy has gone down hill, I got a fish tea and fritters and a roll. I asked for a buttered roll and i got a dry roll, when i came home i put the fritter onto the roll I took a bite and their was a big black hair came off of the fritter it all ended up in the bin. Another time I was in and they have forgotten to give me my rolls, and also they have charged me for bottles of juice and not giving me them. I am going to stick with Troon chippy/chicken bar in Portland Street.
Probably the best takeaway chippy in Troon & there are many! Chips are always fresh tasting because they clean and change the oil regularly.There is always a wait at peak times, particularly a Sunday but you get good banter in the queue or it's nice to walk along the shore- front for a few minutes while that fresh batch of chips is fried. Mixed fryer means the chips aren't Gluten-free which could be a future improvement. Cash only with a long walk to the nearest machine. Staff are always polite, friendly & helpful. Get some traditional chips & the seaside!
This place was closed for a wee while due to a fire but has reopened. Had to wait a short while for a fish supper but this is a good thing as it meant the stuff was fresh rather than having sat for a while. Decent sized portions. The chips were very slightly greasy but not bad, and this can be a hit and miss thing in any chippy from one day to the next.
Brilliant chippy, you need to wait as the food is cooked as it is ordered. The shop is very clean and tidy, staff are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately it is closed at the moment due to a shop fire, it should be opening again soon.
