Was here on a deal with my mum who has mobility issues so we got the accessible room on the first floor. It was a super big room with a lovely bathroom (wet room with a seat in the shower area so it was perfect)The staff were lovely-very friendly and helpful and one of the housekeepers helped me out with all our luggage when we were checking out. This was a huge help otherwise I would have had about 3 trips back to the room to get all our luggage!!Food was really nice too. Would highly recommend
We'd booked an overnight stay at the nearby Marine Hotel and popped into the Old Loans for lunch - our first visit here. First impressions were very good: friendly and attentive staff, nice and comfortable. Being lunchtime on a Monday it wasn't too busy and we were greeted and served by Danielle who made us feel very welcome. We ordered salmon and prawn with salad, along with the soup of the day - we were served quickly and the food was outstanding; really, really good. So many places are kind of mediocre, but the Old Loans nails it: great food and customer service. Will definitely be back for dinner and possibly an overnight stay - this could be our new 'go to' place!
Cosy, relaxed & welcoming surroundings in the beautiful hamlet of Loans. Service & attention to detail were exceptional- kids were well catered for with a good selection of quality, fresh, fun & tasty options. Drinks were expensive. Gluten-free awareness & menu options were amazing, vegetarian options were limited but with better quality & more though than many places. Traditional hearty dishes with quality ingredients, cooked & presented well, in an absolute gem of an establishment. Can't wait to go back
I don't usually write reviews for hotels but The old Loans inn deserves one. The rooms are fantastic, quiet and large. The showers are beautifully powerful and always hot on demand. The staff are 1st class very friendly and highly efficient. Now for the food....I spend most of my life on the road eating and sleeping In hotels. The foods i experience on my travels can sometimes be disturbing, burnt and tasteless you know those microwave pre packed meals were all overcharged for. The Old loans food is the best I've ever eaten in the road. The food is always cooked to perfection. Full of taste and despite filling always making you wish you had room to eat it again. Perfect food it's like being at home.....actually it's better as I can't cook that well. The chefs deserve a commendation for their perfection and must have a passion for cooking.This hotel has my highest applause from the moment I arrived I've been welcomed with a smile, friendly face and beautiful conversation. I've been here for 2 weeks so feel this review can be taken as gospel.I hope to return soon to this amazing gem of a hotel
